As soon as we entered another chamber, a strange wave of something sour hit my nostrils. I sneezed. The room had nothing, but stacks upon stacks of large, pineapple shaped, clay vases. They closed the tops of the vases with molten snakeskin and tied it around with a thin vine. Molten snakeskin was a popular container sealer since it could be found in many places. It was also less hard to deal with than actual, full snakeskin. Back at the village, we’d either use this method or we’d use the same plants that we made our clothes from.

I was baffled by the number of vases. If there’s water in there, it’s enough to last the entire village for at least a month. They’ve definitely been working hard around here. I looked at Leo, expecting an explanation of what was inside of them or what they were created for, but he just walked straight to an empty set of vases.

“Take one,” was all Leo voiced as he picked up a vase, it was so large that it was practically half of him! He put one hand through the opening and clutched onto the edge, then took another one with his other hand and began walking back towards the entrance, as if he was carrying nothing, but two light cups instead.

I hurried, trying to pick one up and figure out a good way to carry the thing. Which wasn’t easy by the way, they were as heavy as they looked and definitely not as light as Leo showed them to be. I just ended up getting all intimate with it and, hugging it as tightly as I could, I wobbled after Leo.

Not being able to see where I was going, I tried to use my hearing as best as I could, listening to Leo’s footsteps, and crashing into things from time to time. Eventually, we left the brush behind and continued to make our way.

“Ugh,” a grunt escaped as I bumped into something directly in front of me. I realized it was Leo.

“S..s..sorry!” I exclaimed. Oh my Divine Being! He already hates my guts, this is definitely not going to get me on his good side…

Leo just continued to stand there, not turning around. I shifted the vase to have a better look at what he was doing, which was looking at a lemon tree not far from us.

“Oh good, it’s right there, let’s go.” Picking up my vase, I started walking towards the tree.

“No,” a single word escaped Leo’s lips. I stopped in my tracks and looked back, completely confused at why he hadn’t moved an inch.

“Lemons are dangerous,” he finally continued, “whether you are close to them or not, you need to be careful. The smell is very strong, it can affect our lungs and cause breathing problems. Our sense of smell could be damaged. There could also be dizziness, coughing, nausea, and much more.” Were there any dire symptoms that he didn’t list? “If a drop accidentally gets in your eye, your eyesight will be permanently damaged.
